10 Commonly Asked Questions at Spine Align

1. How long will I have to keep going to the chiropractor?

The length of time that you come to our office will always be up to you! We will provide treatment recommendations and help you set goals for your care, however, the ultimate choice to receive care will be up to you. Some of our patients only come in when they have painful episodes of neck or back pain while others are focused on a more wellness-based approach to their care.

2. Do you sell courses of care called correction?

On each visit, you will be able to determine whether chiropractic care is right for you and your budget. You are never locked into any plan because of a long-term financial commitment. We do not sell extensive courses of care called correction. We continue to sell small packages of wellness visits that are affordable.

3. Does medical insurance cover chiropractic care?

Most insurance plans cover chiropractic care. We will be happy to verify your benefits for you.

4. Does chiropractic care hurt?

Chiropractic adjustments rarely cause discomfort. There are a number of ways to adjust the spine. Some involve use of a computerized adjusting device, others involve moving the joints by hand and some use a device called an Activator. Communicating with your doctor will help select the method that is the best fit for you and your needs.

5. Who goes to the chiropractor?

One out of every ten people in America will visit their chiropractor each year. Many of these people will have neck pain, back pain, disc problems, headaches or back injuries. Some people will be young and others will be elderly. Chiropractic offers something for all ages. Some individuals use chiropractic as they attempt to achieve optimal health and performance during their participation on recreational and professional sports teams. Still others use chiropractic as an effective source of preventative and wellness care.

6. Does chiropractic help children forced to carry unhealthy weights in their backpacks?

Children and young adults are often forced to carry ridiculously heavy bookbags. An acceptable load in a bookbag would be 10-15% of a child’s weight. Anything heavier risks long-term spinal damage. The most sensible approach to the problem would be limiting the weight in the bookbags. If this is not possible, periodic treatment of the resultant back and neck pain may help the spine continue to develop in a functionally sound manner.

7. Is chiropractic safe?

According to the ICA in 2016, records from insurance and court cases have shown chiropractic to be the safest portal of entry health care available to the public today. Although no healthcare procedures are 100% risk free, chiropractic care stands on its record of safety and effectiveness. It is recognized and regulated by law in 40 countries. In the United States, Doctors of Chiropractic are licensed in all 50 states.

8. Are chiropractors anti-medicine?

No, not at all. Chiropractic is simply conservative care. The training of a chiropractor is focused on a natural approach to health. Should your care require medication, we can refer you to other health providers.

9. Will a referral to Spine Align be needed for health insurance to pay for services?

No.

10. If I am in an auto accident, should I speak to an attorney or get my health concerns addressed first?

Without your health, nothing else matters. Your first concern should always be your health. Should it be necessary, we will be happy to match you with an attorney who suits your personality and needs. We will also provide information to your attorney or adjustor so that your case can be settled as quickly and efficiently as possible.
